The MARC program is open and available to all who are interested to apply and/or participate, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin. MARC is a two or three year commitment so we are currently accepting applications for students graduating in May 2027 or May 2028.
As of June 01, 2025, NIH funding for the SDSU MARC grant will be terminated.
New students admitted to the MARC program during the 2025 application cycle will still receive all other program benefits including but not limited to:
- community of peers on the path to a PhD
- mentorship from program staff and faculty
- networking opportunities and professional development workshops
- support in applying to internal and external fellowships
- support in completing summer research program and graduate school applications
- opportunity to become a funded scholar if funding becomes available
As we navigate these funding challenges, the application deadline has been extended to Friday, May 09, 2025 at 5 pm PST. Application review will not begin until after the due date. The Selection Committee will evaluate applications for each candidate, and invite selected applicants to interview in late May.
